| Carthage College, the
Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation (CATI), and regional
educational institutions have formed an organization consisting of
a technology incubation
facility; a technology transfer office to leverage research and development
activities at educational institutions and businesses and industries
in the area; and an education program with local colleges, universities,
and
school districts to provide project based learning opportunities to
students from high schools, colleges, and graduate schools, and entrepreneurship
courses to a wide range of audiences, including under- and unemployed
individuals.
This model integrates community development and education activities,
giving students real-world entrepreneurship experience, and a pathway
to commercialize
their own ideas. |
