(darion@carthage.edu) Douglas N. Arion is the Hedberg Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies in the Natural Sciences and professor of physics at Carthage College. After a career at Science Applications International Corporation as head of the Applied Physics and Engineering Division, Arion conceived, started, and continues to direct the ScienceWorks Entrepreneurial Studies program at Carthage. This program has for the last eight years successfully integrated entrepreneurship and career training into the undergraduate science and technology curriculum. Arion works extensively with regional business development groups and municipal organizations, combining academic activities with new business creation and business revitalization. He also conducts research in the areas of astrophysics and instrumentation development. |
