Integrating Master of Engineering Management Students into Multidisciplinary Senior Design Project Teams

Valparaiso University, 2005 - $5,000

This program offers engineering students the opportunity to enhance their marketing, finance and operations management skills by participating in entrepreneurial, service learning-based, multidisciplinary senior project design teams. The teams, composed of four to six individuals and supervised by one of fifteen Master of Engineering Management (MEM) students acting as project overseer, design and develop products for the community. Examples of past entrepreneurial projects include the development of an orthopedic shoulder probe, a surgical knife that cauterizes as it cuts, a new kind of wheelchair, and a respiratory aid.
