I-SHOW Competition Application
We are pleased to announce that we have selected the 10 Semi-Finalists for the inaugural Innovation Showcase (I-SHOW)! If you are interested in participating in next year's I-SHOW to be held in June 2008, please contact Ben Johnston at johnstonb@asme.org or (202) 785-7384.
I-SHOW is sponsored by the American Society for Mechanical Engineers (ASME), National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) and Idea to Product (I2P).
The I-SHOW seeks not only to be a competition, but also to provide a transformative and educational experience for the teams. The ten selected teams and faculty will be enrolled in NCIIA's Invention to Venture workshops where they will learn about technology commercialization and business plan development. The I-SHOW will also partner with the seed venture and angel fund communities as well as local Universities and corporations to provide mentors for the teams. During the time prior to the I-SHOW, the teams will be matched with local entrepreneurs and experts based on their areas of expertise to help them refine their product, develop the business model around the product, and develop a business pitch. Judges will select the best and most feasible ideas, and winners will receive cash prizes and additional support.
The competition is open to all graduate and undergraduate student teams at colleges and universities. Each team must include at least one engineering student and one engineering faculty advisor. There is no limit on the number of entries per academic institution.
Competition registration and materials submission take place online via NCIIA competition tools.
